One Month To Go!

Wow, it’s been almost month since I have updated you. Where do I start? The month of April was a crazy travel month. In addition, I got sick so I lost of few days of training. I traveled to Minnesota for a conference in the first week of the month which is where I got really sick. Only if I could explain to you how my ears felt like on that plane. That weekend I was scheduled to run in the Brooklyn half marathon. I never made it. I have to tell you I was real disappointed that I did not run. My consolation was I saw Lance Armstrong running in the park later that morning when I went for a run on my own . By the way, I ran 13 miles that day. I ran my own half marathon!

The following week I went to Chicago for another conference. That week I did most of my training in the gym. Back in NY for the long Saturday run , we met near the George Washington Bridge. Yes we ran over the GWB to New Jersey. I was back at home! We ran on a trail that runs along the Hudson River. I tell you, I have never seen so many hills in my life. Up and down for 2 ½ hours. At one point, I was thinking to myself " what am I doing out here ??" . Well, that day I ran 16 miles! By the way the view on GWB is amazing!

Ok, so far I have been to Minnesota and Chicago where it is both cold, so it’s time to head south for some R&R. Kristine and I went on vacation on Captiva Island in Florida. Talk about a weather change. It was 90 degrees and sunny every day. For my Saturday run , I woke up at 5 am to start running at 5:30 am. It was so dark at 5:30 am. I could not see a thing. I did not see much for about 45 minutes. I thought it would be less humid at that time, but it was still pretty bad. I ran for 3 hrs that morning and ran 18 miles. Yes I ran 18 miles in nasty heat and humidity. Kristine did save me! She rode a bike out to meet me on mile 13 with water and food. Thank you Kristine!
